We have had a report of a non Porsche dealer fitted replacement screen resulted in a significant increase in wind noise.

Arguing that recalibration is necessary should help in getting it done by the OPC.

Admiral policy document essentially precludes getting the windscreen fixed by anyone other than Autoglass:

Agree that it is more difficult, and you may suffer a higher excess, but it is your right to choose the repairer if your car......

..but again, for a screen I'd let Autoglass do it (all the more so because there is an extremely strong possibility that the dealership will sub it out to them anyway!)

We will not pay more than £50 after we have deducted your excess says to me they will not pay more than £125 for a windscreen replacement if the excess is £75.

Thats exactly how i read it too. Its worth a call to clarify as a new screen is not cheap....

I know Aviva advised me they will pay max £185 towards windscreen replacement if i use my own repairer.
I opted for NFU who just charge £70 XS instead of £50 and no courtesy car and i can use who i like.....

I'm going to go with Autoglass got plenty enough going on at the moment without adding a fight with the insurer to that list.

Regarding NFU they do seem good in relation to windscreen but £1600 theft from drive excess was a deal breaker for me.

Yes agree the £1600 XS is heavy but i have a tracker and garage so that for me seemed not too painful... Not that i want to ever find out. :o

And it seems to be only for the GTS and Turbos....

Let us know how you get on with the windscreen replacement...

Unfortunately the Macan wouldn't fit in our garage besides the Boxster has squatters rights :)

Will do have just made the initial call and it was very professionally handled. They are going to refer to Admiral regarding OEM screen which they expect to be authorised without issue.
