Spook, I like the comment about you wife's handbag. It reminds me of manual chokes and women who thought it was a handy "hook" to hang their handbag; then they wondered why the mpg was so high. LoL. It may be a cliche now but I have seen it done.

All, I've decided to not got down the 718 Cayman route. The car drives really well and the handling is fantastic but the engine noise is too intrusive in the cabin and too rough around the edges. The suspension is too hard at low speeds and in town and that's a problem as it will be a daily driver. The car I tested didn't have PASM so maybe that would make a difference.

Anyway I'm now headed down the 911 Carrera route and my OPC has a very nicely specced showroom car with only 11 miles on it. I've also been offered a great trade in against my Macan S petrol (close to 80% for a March 2015 car) so the 911 is suddenly within reach.

Spook, I had a look at your spec and see that you have included Sport Chrono and PSE. The showroom car has both which adds approximately £5k to the price of my own configuration. The car has 370 bhp which seems more than enough so what will be the main advantages of SC and PSE?

I'd appreciate your's and anyone else's thoughts about choosing these items.

Hi DandyDon.

Exciting times! 80% of the full list price of a two and a half year old car sounds pretty good! :geek:

Would you care to share the spec of the showroom 911 that you're looking at?

PSE adds noise only. In fact neither PSE or Sport Chrono add any extra power.

I had a pre-owned 991.1 Carrera (2013). It had PSE and it made a fantastic noise! I still miss the burbles and pops! It did not have SC. I have read of 911 owners who have SC, but rarely use it. You may appreciate it more if you are a very sporty driver and might possibly drive your 911 on a track...
