Diesel cars defy 'demonisation'
Continuing that argument surely Porsche might just as well say to diesel and 2.0 litre owners, they are not our engines take the car to Audi for service.
I am not anti diesel as such, it is the question that is on the rear of an SD that makes me say never buy a aporsche Macan SD ........ Is this car going to suffer from DPF issues?

Does not counter petrol heads at all, it is a rehash of the Telegraph article.SAC1 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2017 12:43 pm counter view to all the petrol heads;

If you have a Macan SD without DPF issues then you still have a great car (all be it 50-60 bhp less than it should have) so why change?
It is the risk of DPF issues in a Macan that make it for me not worth the risk in buying one.

no need for that.....like telling Aston Martin owners to get their cars serviced at their local Ford garage...

Is not the Macan based on the platform of the (old) Audi Q5?
As time goes by, more and more parts (including engines and chassis etc) will be shared between Audi and Porsche, albeit mainly in the non-sports cars (Macan, Cayenne and Panamera) which now represent the majority of Porsche sales.

You miss the point here... diesel might be making children gasp for breath, but it is better for polar bears. They benefit from the lower CO2 emissions and less effect on global warming. They don't care about the local pollution caused in big cities which doesn't harm them. Only people with asthma. So you could have the children gasping for breath and happy polar bears. Or on the petrol cars, drowning polar bears with no ice cap left and happy chlldren. Take your pick and choose which pollution you will generate.

...or, in the future, an electric car, running on electricity generated by sun, wind and tide.
