Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has had issues with the brakes on the Macan ? I have a Macan Diesel S The car is was purchased new on the 1st of April , the car has been back to the dealers after 4,700 miles with issues regarding the brakes, there was a vibration through both the brake peddle and stearing wheel. Especially when feathering the brakes not applying hard
Breaks were changed under warranty both front and back, now the issue has returned the mileage is now 8,200 miles the cra is again back at the dealers , I have told them I need to get to the route of the issue not just keep replacing the discs and pads.
I am astounded that a car of this pedigree has two sets of discs and pads within under 6 moths of ownership.
I am now wondering if it is worth keeping the car if this is ongoing. I love the car, it doesn't get driven hard.
Issues with front brakes
I used to get a bit of that if leaving the car parked for a while with the handbrake on - I presume this clamps the pads to the discs and causes differential friction especially if feathering. I could get rid of it with a few heavy brake applications.
I now rarely use the electronic handbrake at home.

In that case it's not a problem that has been mentioned here, but it seems strange that the second set of discs and pads didn't cure the fault. It will be interesting to see what the dealer says.

It has been mentioned a couple of times, including one where the OPC wanted a couple of grand to change the discs.
It has also been reported a few times on the USA based Macan forum.
Heavy steel discs should not warp.
If they do it is down to heavy use and maybe caliper alignment issues.

The car is back in the garage now and they have mentioned that a hub may be out of alignment, it's becoming frustrating that the car that is manufactured by Porsche has been in the garage numerious times for the same issue.

Hope they've at least given you a nice loaner. Hope they resolve the issue soon.

Having read your post I have paid particular attention to my brakes over the last couple of days and no issues like you describe. Intersting link posted by Guy. It seems that it doesn't take much to end up with mis-aligned brakes and this trouble after about 5000 miles.
