Has anyone had tyres fitted by a non dealer as clearly the price may be more competitive however I am worried about damage tp the Tyre pressure monitors?

All new cars have these monitors and have done far several years. Obviously it is down to the individual changing the tyres, but the sensors shouldn't be an issue

If and when I need tyres I will be using a local specialist tyre shop. Their prices are very competitive and no one could take better care of my wheels and sensors. They do stock and fit a lot of high end tyres so are also very experienced in that sort of stuff.
While they are not in your area, I'm sure with a bit of research a similar shop could be found near you who will beat Porsche on price and do as good if not better a job. Maybe some on here could recommend.

Always use Event Tyres who are a mobile fitting service and never had any issues. Also very competitively priced.

Make sure that they are "N" spec tyres if you want the Porsche OE designated rubber:

"The N Specification is a Porsche system of approved tyres, first introduced in the 1988 Model Year – it means that Porsche have worked with the manufacturer to produce an optimal road tyre for a particular model and wheel size combination, and tested it to their satisfaction at the time."

I am more worried about damage to the wheels and plan to use Porsche if their price is reasonable.

Some on here, including Hawkeye I believe, have said that their OPC has price matched a tyre quote if available locally.

Do OPCs generally fit the tyres themselves, or do they just contract it out?

Depends on the dealership.....some sub out to the local tyre centre, others will let £100 + per hour skilled technicians fit tyres....😉
