How long would you expect a set of Porsche alloy wheels to last before corrosion sets in? Very disappointing considering they cost £1600.
I have just had my dealer supplied (2014) winter wheels and tyres fitted to the Macan and note that one of them is starting to corrode. They are stored in my garage for 9 months of the year and cleaned up before being stored away.

Three years seems a bit light.

Looks like it could be salt water corrosion when trapped under the centre cap and then stored in one position. Probably best to remove the caps when storing in future and ensure surface area is clean and dry.

That’s an interesting point. The wheels were stored at the dealers for the first couple of years but they didn’t have room for them anymore so I put them in my garage last season. Cleaned them up, dried them and stored them upright. I don’t know how they had been stored previously.
Might have a word with my dealer although I’ve just had the half shafts replaced on the Macan which they (Porsche UK) paid the bulk of.

Whatever the reason, it will need to be refurbished, perhaps use it for this winter and have it or all of them done in springtime? My local wheel guy charges £85 per wheel and would match the colour. He just did one of my damaged VG Classics and it's a perfect colour match.
