Hi Ferdie. We just got back. Fabulous day! Perfect weather. And I'm sure that there were 1,000+ Porsches there. We too endured the poorly organised hour-long crawl for the final few hundred yards, but great day nonetheless. We enjoyed the falconry again too. We caught the 3pm 'show'. Shame that there were few Macans, but we did spot a stunning PTS blue one! ;)
Well, well - we joined the 3pm show five minutes past, at the back :o . He was a fantastic advocate of the art of falconary we really enjoyed it and could see your car was still there as we walked back to ours afterwards - I rank that as near miss!
Hi Ferdie. We stood in the shade while he was talking. Very informative and an excellent history lesson to boot! I sat in the sunshine on the grass for the 10 minute 'flying' part of the show. A near miss indeed! ;)

After the falconry talk, we had a look around the Palace House. Then a detour into Lymington on the way home for a bite to eat.

Cheers,

Simon
I was there today too and also enjoyed the Falconry. Great day out.

Ferdie wrote: Sun Jun 03, 2018 6:58 pm Back from Beaulieu had a storming day, may have seen some of your cars but associating people with them was just not going to happen. Disappointingly few Macans think I saw ~4, same for Cayennes and no private Panameras. I heard there were 1200 cars (not quite sure about that) but a couple of fields full of sports cars!

But we also enjoyed the other parts including the falconry display. The queuing to get in was the only downer an hour moving every few minutes, not sure what happened there. :? DSC_0217.jpg

Hi Ferdie and WC,
I was also expecting to see more Macans but there were even fewer Cayennes. By the way I am pretty sure there were no other night blue Macans (or any other Porsche models) apart from mine... surprising...I think it's a lovely colour (but I would, wouldn't I?)😂

3pm show...? ;)

A great day out indeed! Hard to think of a better day trip for me. 1,000-1,200 Porsches to admire, gorgeous weather, handy restaurant, motor museum, abbey, gardens, palace house, falconry... Then a detour to pretty Lymington for a tasty tea. Plus a drive through the picturesque New Forest! :)

Hi JBA,

Is yours a Night Blue GTS, parked fairly centrally? I may have spotted it as we walked back to the car at the end of the day.

I think we saw one or two other Night Blues, including a 911, as we wondered around the 1,000-1,200 Porsches present, but certainly a fairly rare colour.

Cheers,

Simon

Thanks for the piccies Simon - what a great day.
Travelling back from Northumberland on the Sunday we were stuck in queues on the A1(M)/A14 for over an hour. Four lanes down to one - what a nightmare. I am advised to keep my comments clean on the forum but I cannot understand the mentality of the person responsible for devising such a road layout during an end of holiday period.
I know where I would have preferred to have been on that afternoon!!

Glad you all had a great day and the weather looked fantastic. We saw some quite outstanding cars at Goodwood including an Ariel Nomad which looked brilliant. However the venue was absolutely packed and left very little opportunity to take any decent pics. Although its free I can't see us going back for a while. Will probably go back to Beaulieu next year as we've really enjoyed the last 2 years there. Hopefully they'll get the parking sorted out next time ;)
