iPod Classic not recognised.
Managed to pair iPhone.
Standard Sound System seems ok.
Smooth as Baby’s Bottom to drive.
Comfort Setting surprisingly wallowy.
Pleasing difference on response in various Sports Modes.
Possible increase in road noise compared to X5 20s. Missus says very noticeable.
Loads left to explore.
Overall I am delighted.

Glad you're delighted, Tom!

I too think that the standard Porsche sound system is fine.

I also really appreciate the noticeable different between Sport, Sport Plus and Economy/Normal modes.

Happy exploring! :)

iPod now connected using simple USB lead. I can throw out the fiddle ass Y cable connecter required for X5.
Query - does the centre arm rest/ cubby lid ratchet up to variable height? It slides forward to partially cover the bottle holders but will not height adjust like my Golf.
Sports Exhaust - an extravagance on a diesel but a nice one

There are design problems with the Macan interior that are a real pain.

1 The Siri button on the indicator stalk is very easily caught unintentially.

2 The centre armrest fouls bottles in their holder when the lid is slid forward.

3 The centre armrest store is far to small, it does not take a cable connected iPhone and worst still you cannot get the phone into the signal booster bracket.

4 The bottle holders are fixed and hence fiddly to clean.

5 The legends on the switches in the roof console are impossible to read, they are used so infrequently one forgets their individual use.

6 The left footrest is to small and not adjustable.

Only minor niggles but the Designers should have known better and you do get used to the quirks.

Btw, Sport mode is by far the best setting for an SD up to cruising mode when standard Comfort mode allows effortless constant speed cruising.

One safety issue that is bad it the rear quarter view, it is non existent, at reverse parking you have to take care otherwise someone could be in the blind spot. Worst still is when moving at speed a car can be overtaking you and you cannot see it in the rear view mirror, you have to have the door mirrors set correctly and use them prior to changing road position.

Tom, looks like you have got a great deal with this car, something the financially astute types from this part of the world find very satisfying. You have bought the best SUV on the market by some distance. Its not perfect of course, nothing is, but no other car combines a sports car with a mud plunger so well IMHO. Enjoy.
