Can’t see us changing from a Macan as our family car. The 2.0T gives us everything we need at the moment so plan to keep it a few years. I will swap my Golf GTi for a 911 in a year or two with A view to keeping it long term in to my early retirement. We will thn decide what to do with the Macan once the kids get in to their mid/ late teens . The 911 will be a 911.2 base carrera

+1, Paul. My girls are 22 and 16. Still likely to be wanting Dad to have a full four seater for some time to come...

P.S.: or could be the one for WingCo, as an inside / out car with regards to the red colour he loves. ;)

Thanks, Semerka. That one is a bit too red inside for even me! ;) Plus, when in the market for a 911, I would not pay £80k for a 997, even a GTS. Having owned a 991.1 C2, don't think I'd go for anything older than that version of a 911. :geek:

And for £80k or thereabouts, I will (hopefully) get a brand new Mission E in 2020. :)

Looks the dog's danglies though. 😃
Yes, I suppose one needs to buy a very good approved warranty / insurance for the older Porsches.

The plan has always been to trade in the SD after 3 years, before the major service is due, before the expiry of the warranty and base in current tyre wear, hopefully before I have to change any of the tyres.

At the moment, the Macan GTS is looking favourite as the replacement. I spoke to the OPC today, who told me that there was around a 6 month lead time, so I wouldn need to place my order until Feb or March next year. I’m already having some fun on the configurator already though.

Be prepared for a shock when your OPC gives you a p/x value on your SD. I told my OPC to stuff it at the beginning of this year. Even WBAC offered a few k more.

But if it's the cost of tyres , service and warranty , is it not cheaper to stay with it ?

Or is it that you just fancy a new machine !
