The Macan's reversing camera position, just above the number plate, attracts the dirt like no other in this mucky weather. Just when the camera is needed the most after a trip in the dark, it's is like looking into fog!
All other cars I've owned have had the camera higher up on the rear section of the car and weren't a problem.
Reversing camera lens - dirt magnet!
Very true.
One of the poor design aspects of the car.

I have similar issue with the rear one. The front seems to be fine though.
To be honest the same issue on the latest Mini too.....

I have a number of complaints about the camera:
14 months and 15,000 miles, still totally committed to my SD, but the reversing camera is probably the least pleasing feature. I wrote to Porsche when I first got the car, and didn't even get an acknowledgement!
- The dirt collects easily. My wife had a GLC for a year. It's camera is hidden, deploys when reverse is selected, and has a rubber 'wiper' feature that cleans the lens as it is deployed. Image always clear
- My greater annoyance is the presence of the large blue rectangle which is overlaid on the screen. This obscures the view of whatever may be in the space into which you are about to reverse
- The sensor graphics can obscure the image
- Illumination from the reversing lamp is insufficient for the sensitivity of the camera. In photographic terms, the camera needs a higher ISO!

But do you drive it much in this filthy UK weather?

Having done 14k miles in 2 Macans, if there is a 3rd, I won't spec the rear camera, I almost never use it when reversing.
