Thinking about changing my SD which was new (£55,000) on the 1st of March 2017, and done 8000miles.
Wanted this week to Part Exchange for a 2017 Macan S petrol or a 2017 Turbo.
Was surprised best Porsche dealer PX price for my SD was only £41,000.
We buy Cars offered me only £30,500 !!!
As a Newbie thought residuals might be better alot Porsches
What experience/guidance have other SD owners had with Residuals.

Trading in a 6 month old car will always be painful (except in the really early days of short supply)
Compare the offer price to market asking prices and you’ll see how it’s worked out.
Try putting your reg number into Autotrader - you’ll get a suggested private sale price based on comparable vehicles.
My first SD (2015 / 15 plate) was sold on after 9 month / 9000 miles in early / mid 2016 for 48K having paid similar to you, but back then there was still a healthy wait for diesels and dealers could charge closer to list......supply and demand is the name of the game.

Ouch! Same age/value as mine. Autotrader shows £49k private sale, £46.5k part ex. Shop around Porsche dealers - they give different prices. WBAC ignore extras and have not been good for forum members. Also specialist luxury care sales companies/individuals - search the forum. Some are named as have been good in the past.

I haven't owned an SD, but did own a 2.0 Macan and then a pre-owned 911 and now a new Panamera.

I know from painful experience that changing cars often (even Porsches) can be a costly hobby! 😬

I do think that Porsches generally hold their value better than many marques.

The OPC would probably look to advertise your car at £48k to £49k in their showroom. An
OPC costs a lot to run, so the poor guys do need to make a profit. ;)

Definitely worth ringing around a number of OPCs if you haven't already done so. And as also mentioned above, some specialist sports car/luxury car dealers might offer you a bit more than an OPC, as they generally have lower overheads.

Best of luck.

P.S. The fact that you're keen to get out of a 9 month old diesel Macan into a petrol Macan might be indicative of perhaps the greater demand for the V6 petrol Macans compared to SDs, giving them a superior ability to retain their value... 🤔

Try Nottingham OPC as I know they were looking for a few SD the other week

Residuals for diesels are a bit "up in the air just now".

Not much help I know. :?

You could always just keep your SD.

Yes it is a diesel issue more than a Porsche issue I think. I was in Maranello a few days ago and they were full of Levante diesels that were hanging around. Same issue for diesel range / land rovers I have seen.

Often a shock to find out what your motor is worth + I've found following link gives a reasonable idea.

Just put your reg in etc + don't bother adding any extras as it won't increase price!
