P/X my 12 month old £61k SD for my GTS 14 month ago and lost approximately 12.5% on the SD,Diesel Macan seem to be taking unfair hit on depreciation at the moment ,think OPCs will take advantage of this when offering P/X values,IMO better keeping the SD there isn’t much out there better than a Macan unless you’ve got a bigger bank balance to fund a change.

Residual Values 2017
I've been looking at backing out of my 6 week old, 1000 mile SD, as I bought it in a rush as an 'in-stock' car and there a a few things I wish it had, such as PSE, interior light pack, auto dimming mirrors (oh and a petrol engine and a GTS badge!). This is made doubly irritating by the fact that there was a fully loaded GTS at 8k miles, for similar money, which I only spotted after I had collected my car.
The calculator from earlier in this thread, puts my car at a £23k loss, but a more detailed analysis of the OPC approved used site, indicates a loss of £12k would be more realistic, given their £8k profit margin plus the finance charge savings etc?
The calculator is probably more accurate once cars hit the 3 year old mark, to be fair?

Not sure how much these residuals work, a few months ago I was looking at a GTS and I was offered a price for my SD which meant taking a £13k hit, just did a price check with WBAC and the previous mentioned site and being offered a price with a £25k hit, that’s on a 15 month old SD, Reckon I will keep it for 3-5 years and worry about it later, Steve W is spot on when he says there’s nothing to beat the SD in real terms and personally I don’t think it’s worth writing off that amount of money to trade up to a GTS at this moment in time, I am concerned over the SD residuals going forward, would be interesting if anyone has been offered any prices for a Petrol trade.

Hi Spud. Mine's a petrol, albeit a Panamera 4, rather than a Macan.
It cost me £83k in March including about £13k in options. I briefly toyed with the idea of swapping to a Panamera Sport Turismo. My OPC said the trade in offer would be £70k in December on a 12k mileage. So a hit of £13k. Needless to say, I declined their kind offer of losing £13k in 9 months!
Hence my decision now to (try to) hang on to my Panamera 4 until I can get into a Mission E.

Cheers Wingco, I reckon to lose VAT minimum so the £13k (20%) hit was realistic from the OPC but a 39% loss in 12 months if WBAC is to be believed is a no starter

I agree, Spud. Seems like WBAC is not suited to most of us on here. I think that their bread and butter is more everyday motors, and not the cars from our upmarket marque of choice, especially if loaded with lots of tasty options!

By the way, Spud. I just tried Autotrader, as it popped up on my FB feed.
They quoted £70,620 for a private sale for mine on 12k miles. and that was without my entering my £13k in options.
I'm sure that the OPC would start by asking nearer to £80k if they were selling mine, maybe £77k to £78k to start with...

Having driven 4 Macans and 2 911s for about 5k depreciation - I think the days of buying a Macan and running it with low depreciation are well and truly over. It is quite easy to get a small discount now on a new Macan.
I think the new Cayenne will probably hold better, at least for the first year.
Over the last two years the Sports Cars - 911s, boxsters, caymans have had strengthening residuals, simply due to a supply/demand issues. Fewer 911s coming out of the factory. The particularly strong models, not surprisingly, are the 991/981 GTS models.

Yes of course - those I categorise as appreciators not depreciators. Would take any GT model Simon- but just not willing to pay over inflated second hand prices.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2017 10:48 am Not to mention the GT cars (GT3s and GT4s).
