Macan Windscreen Wipers

I am getting increasingly frustrated by the smears and smudges left on my windscreen by the windscreen wipers. I've tried cleaning them with a cloth and it makes no difference so I am wondering whether it's due to wiper degradation. If it is, then I will be pretty annoyed as the car has only done 3500 miles from new and the expectation is that Porsche wipers should not be failing in the first year of ownership.

Also my rear wiper does not seem to move across the glass smoothly even when it is raining hard and the glass is very wet.

Anyone experienced similar or can offer any quick solutions?

I believe there has been other posts on this topic... as I remember some have changed wipers or put screen rainX on ... although the leaves a slight mist after wiper has gone across the screen. I believe Bosh airo twins are recommended.

Mike is correct.

I suffered with smearing and judder on Macan 1 which the Bosch blades cured.

Not sure who posted it originally but quite a few of us changed from standard following the recommendations and universally the swap over worked if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the help both. Really appreciated. Disappointing that standard blades not fit for purpose but will take your advice.

Rear wiper judder in a recognised issue - albeit my service manager had to go and look it up - and is cured by OPC fitting a widget or spacer or something.

Had mine done last week and took about 90 mins.

As I haven’t been out in wet conditions since I can’t tell you if it works. 😳

I’m sure there’s a thread re this fix somewhere.

The front screen wipers have been fine on my Turbo since new and I have just had them renewed after one year. It is not the case that the standard blades are 'not fit for purpose'. I suspect in many cases it is more to do with windscreen contamination which also transfers to the blades.

I fixed my rear wiper judder by simply removing the blade assembly from the arm, rotating it 180 degrees and refitting it. Two minute job which did the trick. It was suggested by someone on here quite some time ago.

90 minutes at OPC, not including travelling time, would appear rather excessive then, even taking the coffee and brownies into account. 😳

The Macan rear wiper is notoriously shite, it's been mentioned in threads previously.

I simply ordered a new Bosch one from Amazon at about £12 and it cured the juddering immediately. In 18 months I've never had any problems with the front wipers.

My front wipers are also fine after a year but the rear judders a lot. I will try this fix tomorrow . Thanks Nick

Wiper blades should be changed annually anyway, the graphite coating will wear away.
