After a half hour drive to OPC this morning the washers, both front and rear, were still frozen. Alright it was -5 but after half an hour I’d have thought they would have warmed through.

...and yet mine were fine from start up (-5 C showing on the dash)
Maybe a change of additive might help Mike?

I’d filled them about a week ago never expecting -5. As it’s in for service this morning I suppose I might expect OPC to refill it accordingly. Or maybe not.

And I would have thought that after half an hour they'd have defrosted.

In London this morning it was -3.5 degrees. Left the car on for 10 mins before driving for 40 mins. Needed to use the water jet, noticed they were frozen.
Luckily I had a bootle of water in the car to clean the screen.
After parking up for couple of hours , drove home - jets still frozen.
Must admit have not added any thing to topup, but had no problems in previous winters.
Agree with happy days, not good enough for a 56 k car.
Everyone- stay safe.
Arrived July 2023 - S, Silver.
Arrived April 2019- S Petrol in Sapphire Blue & 21” Spiders. Sold
Arrived April 15 -diesel S, Agate grey & 20 “ spiders. Sold

I use some German stuff from Lidl that’s good for -63c neat. I mix it 1:1 year round and haven’t had my washer jets freeze in any car for 15 years.

Even heated jets will struggle if the mix is weak as it can freeze at any point in the tank pump and lines. Used this neat for many years throughout winter, no problems at all. Suggest empty your tank and start again, if there is any left in a Halfords store 😕 I buy half dozen at a time in the summer when often half price 🤑. They also sell a -20 product.

Nothing to do with the cost of the car. It's about poor preparation and not following the manufacturer's recommendations.
