Where does your wife work? How did someone steal her key without her knowing and how did she get home?

Sorry if I sound like a copper, I'm not lol but just intrigued how that can happen.

Phew, that was lucky!
I hope you get her back soon and keys sorted.

How did the "tracker" know that your Macan moving was a cause for concern, if a genuine key was used?
Is it because the thieves had your wife's key, but not the tracker card?

Sorry to hear that Roger but this shows how good trackers can be. This is generally what is done with high value cars where they are driven to a location and left to see if they are recovered within a day or so. If it hasn't they know it has not got a tracker on and come back.

At least you do not have to make a huge insurance claim for a new car.

They had the key but not the tracker card which is why you got notified. Even if they had the tracker card when you woke up in the morning you would of reported it stolen and they can track it still.

Some advise if you do not already use it is to get a Faraday pouch for the key which is Ā£10 odd. And at night put this pouch or the key in a Tin...
This stops the other vulnerabilities which can be used with keyless entry.

Believe it or not 55% of vehicle thefts are with the owners key.. This is an official 2016 Statistic.

yes that fob thing which is sometimes annoying to carry around was the life saver in all of this, otherwise i wouldn't have known till the morning by which time car could have been anywhere i guess. yes ill definitely get one of these pouches - thanks for the tip

+1. After the many negative posts about Vodafone on the forum it's good to see a Ronseal one (It does what it says on the tin!).

Just a thought for the future: if your wife doesn't take the car to work it might pay to leave the key at home as well.

Sorry to hear about this Roger, I hope you and the wife are not too shaken with all of this, really upsetting when thieves do this to good folk - my best wishes to you and the family and I hope you will be enjoying the Macan very soon.
