Has anyone had a noise which I have started to get recently.

When accelerating and you take your foot off the accelerator, I hear a sort of whining noise coming from the right hand side. It sort of goes bah, bah bah bah.

It only does it in the circumstance where you quickly take your foot off the accelerator. If you silly take your foot off and slowly release the acelerator you hear no noise.....

Any ideas?

Could it be your other half complaining about your driving? I suppose that would come from the left though

Maybe take a wee video of it happening on your phone? Then we can all hear it?

Although I can report I had a whining noise from the right hand side, it didn't manifest itself under throttle lift. It was (correctly) identified as the aircon compressor. After a replacement was fitted (saving me a paid for top up next later this year 8-) ) it was gone.

Unless you're in sport or have stop/start turned off, when you slowly take your foot of the throttle the engine will drop back to idle and disengage from the transmission. Try letting that happen then turn off stop/start and see if the whining starts. At least that gives you some extra info for the dealer when you take the car in.
