Hopefully another one in a year or so (facelift) but the wife suggested an X5 😩

I've had 4 X5's and the most recent was a 64 plate 4.0d M Sport. My Macan GTS blows it away in every department except space and I still cringe at the depreciation suffered by BMW cars right across the range  They are even offering 0% finance on the M3 and M4 now which was something BMW never did previously.

Yes I saw BMW were offering 0% finance on the M3 and M4 which was unheard of. They are also heavily discounting and this has had a big impact on residuals. I looked at the X3/X4 when I was looking to change and the Macan GTS was way better.

I’m trying my best to hold onto my Macan. Heavily specced it to keep for 3-4 years, so should really try and stick to that. It’s hard when there are other interesting cars out there to try too. Keep finding myself looking at RS6s and Sonoma Green RS4s!

In all honesty if I moved into a 911 of my own it would be a permanent move, I would be stuck in the thing, they are far to low for this old guy with a bad back and shot at hips.

Even the Macan is causing me problems as the seating is just so damn high off the ground I struggle to get out.

So my next car will not be a 911 or even a Porsche.
I am in SUV style car because they are easier to get into/out of and driving position is better suited to me (I haven't had anywhere near as much back problems since switching) - while better seats may help, I was in a BMW 3 series for a few days while my last car was being repaired and there is just no way I can drive something that low for long periods - so I can't see me getting a 911 or similar.

Space is the only reason we would not get another Macan - it's shocking how much space a baby uses with his paraphernalia.

I have an M2 so do like BMWs, but an X5 or X7 will be a money pit. I test drove a Velar which was nice but there were electrical problems with the internal systems and suspension which has put me off a TaTa. I also had a go in the diesel Bentaga - now that had a lively V8 burble but was too big and bling. And to top it off it had more squeaks and rattles than the Velar!

I think it could be another Macan or Cayenne. But I have to be honest I don't fancy a Turbo with white brake calipers 😱

I am pretty certain there is more space in the Macan than the old A40 my parents used to have with three small children (though I doubt you have got 3 child seats in it) - it is like when I go away I don't have to think about what I really need now so tend to over pack and not necessarily spend any effort ensuring best fit.

Always looking at those, but whilst lovely, I know that would be a big compromise given our family requirements. Was watching something on YouTube today and there was a video of a chalk 911 Turbo S which looked amazing.

I could easily spend all day gazing at images of 911s!
