One of our last cars had a new engine and as it was a warranty issue the engine was built to order with the same serial No's and as a result there is absolutely no record of this work being carried out and the person who now owns it is likely to blissfully unaware.

My last Cayman 987.2 had a new PDK gearbox fitted at 6,000 miles. The current owner will be unaware that his gearbox is 6,000 miles and 1 year younger than the engine. Mind you there was nothing wrong with the original gearbox as it turned out to be just software.
