Hi
I have ordered a Macan S recently and have already received an email from the dealer regarding PPF from Topaz London. I have also read about Gtechniq coating etc here.
My situation is that I am not that obscessive about the car. I drive around 50miles daily on dual carriageway for work. I normally will pay for your typical hand wash service off the A road. My previous cars had coating from the dealer and I found that helped to keep the car clean. I am OK to pay for similar again.
Given the situation, should I go for any special coating? Which type?
Many thanks for any input.

If you’re not particularly obsessive, don’t wash the car youself and rely on local hand car washes then don’t waste your £600 (?) on a coating...

Yes, agree with not spending £600.

Some of the dealer coatings appear to be quite good for keeping the car clean. My son had a Mercedes that never looked dirty. Might be worth getting something like that if it is a reasonable price.

I was just offered by my dealer a pre delivery detail and "ceramic" paint protection for £799

I won't be doing that!

I would save your money if you are not obsessive. A lot of people on here are obsessive and, for them, a coating is worthwhile. However, if you are planning on keeping the car a long time then a decent ceramic coating and/or PPF film will keep it looking much nicer for longer

In that case, don't waste your money on any paint protection.

Thanks for the advice! My friend got the ceramic coat for free as his Cayman was delivered on his birthday. Maybe I will try this tactic and move my birthday to the delivery date! Rather spent the money on LED lights instead.

As others have said don't bother unless you intend to keep the finish in good order by a disciplined washing regime. Paying for a fancy finish will have no future value when it comes time to sell the car based on normal useage
