It’s so hard to know what the impact will be on residuals for us Macan SD owners and if it would make sense to trade out of the car just because of the uncertainty if you weren’t looking to change anyway.

From my perspective, I’m mostly happy with my car and have had no DPF issues, so it would only be that seed of doubt (or the pull of a 911) prompting the change.

An interesting prog on BBC R4 last night with informed discussion about electricity supply and distribution in the UK.
One point was that the rise in "electric car" usage would mean they'd inevitably be recharged when drivers returned home from work. This at a time when demand is already at its highest. Figures suggest the extra demand just cannot be met. If supply were increased, taking many years, cost per KWh would rocket given the huge cost of building new generating capacity. However since there'd be no obvious way to differentiate power used to recharge cars and that for 'domestic' use; every consumer whether owning an electric car or not would face a huge increase in electricity bills.
Maybe another ill-conceived govt., knee-jerk reaction to the evils of pollution from private cars?

Through life Cradle to Grave figures, this is what people forget about : manufacture (including the components and their transportation) , vehicle transportation and disposal .
Some only see the pollution figures from their usage and not what goes on before or after they have sold on.

EV lovers are not worried about power station pollution. lithium mining / disposal, vehicle manufacture, transportation etc Just when they are driving they are being environmentally friendly.

If this goes seriously the wrong way for residuals, Porsche have sold me their last car?
