I'm sure that your SE is right. There are usually deals to be had on the tail end of the current model when the new model is on the horizon.

However I really struggled to get a build slot from Jan this year , yes I could have got a GTS or T but nearly everything else was built to order.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 6:34 pm

Any update on your build completion date, spook?
Saw my SE today and mine's moved forward, by one day! Now 19th March is showing on the screen.

I suppose the 992 is simply a heavily updated 991 as is he usual thing with the 911 ie 964/993, 996/997 and now the 991/992 twins, updated interior and a front and rear update. If you ask me the 991.1 to 991.2 drive train update was arguably a much more significant change.

I agree. Naturally aspirated to turbocharged = seismic change.
The next BIG change will be the introduction of a hybrid 911.

Not sure how much room there is for batteries in the current 991/992 chassis remembering it was developed ten years ago when hybrid wasn't on the 911s horizon. Might have to wait until the next full new model before getting a proper hybrid

I think that's the key - there won't be the usual deals because there is no supply. Be interesting to see what cars are produced after the factory shutdown - will it be any 991.2 normal variants, just Turbos, just GTs, just specials (e.g. Speedster), nothing...I guess it won't be too long before we find out.spook wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 6:51 pmHowever I really struggled to get a build slot from Jan this year , yes I could have got a GTS or T but nearly everything else was built to order.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 6:34 pm
