2019 Porsche 911 992 previewed ahead of 2018 reveal
As expected, the 992-generation 911 will be an evolution over the current model in terms of styling, although under-the-skin updates will be more thorough as the car enters its eighth generation.
911 model director August Achleitner didn’t say exactly which autonomous features the car would have, but hinted that it would be more advanced than before, adding that the driver will always be the focus of the model: “a 911 will always have a steering wheel,” adding that “the 911 will be one of the last cars to drive autonomously.”
Lane keep assist, the system which inputs small movements in the steering wheel to keep the car in the middle of the lane, is expected to make it into the new car - it’s currently not available on the 911. The driver will be able to switch off the assistance systems too, says Achleitner: “Those are convenient and useful things. But the customer has to make the choice to use them and, above all, be able to switch them off when they’re not desired.”
The car will not be a full-electric model, said Achleitner, although the approach of a full-EV 911 is ever closer: “Two years ago I’d have said no way. Today I wouldn’t categorically rule it out.”

Hmmm - sounds to me like we could potentially see a hybrid 911 in 992.1...

Saw my SE today and mine's moved forward, by one day! Now 19th March is showing on the screen.
Not heard anything else, I don't pester too much and its too far to just pop in.
I'll leave it in their capable hands and await a call, its happening and thats all that matters.

Quite right, spook.
I too am doing my best not to be a pest!
My SE said yesterday that 19th March build completion should see my 911 arrive at the OPC two weeks later - so first week of April with any luck (although I realise that times from factory to OPC can vary a lot in reality).

I agree. My build date hasn’t changed (20th April) but my dealer delivery date has been moved back 11 days to the 1st of June on their system. My SE said this is worst case scenario and he said I should see it before then but I am still potentially looking at 6 weeks from build.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 11:00 am Quite right, spook.

Blimey! If 20th April is your start of build date, that's still 5 weeks from build complete to arrival at OPC!
My SE is pretty experienced (32 years with Porsche including 16 years in sales) and he seems pretty confident (but not guaranteed) of 2 weeks from build complete to OPC...
I know from my own experience with my Panamera though, that delays can occur in the multi-stage journey from factory to Emden to Sheerness to OPC...
