As a result of the discontinuance of diesel and various comments on here about discounts I started looking last week at Pre Registered zero miles SD Macans. I do really like the low down torque of the diesel and it’s refinement + economy and am prepared to take the risk of buying another diesel. I did enquire about a petrol S but it seemed dealers not really looking to discount more than £1500 max as they do not have much allocation left before factory shut down and need to maximise profit from each factory order car. I have as a result ordered today a Macan SD which was pre registered mid February and is zero miles. Some of the spec I would not have paid for but the significant discount made it worthwhile . I also got £2000 more for my 22500 mile May 2015 SD than Webuyanycar. I hope ride on 21” wheels with no PASM is ok. Never had a Porsche with PASM even with Cayman and Boxsters on max size wheels. Also hoping that summer tyres are not too bad in winter as always had all seasons on my current and previous Macans.

Mark,

I think you should test drive the Macan on 21"s without PASM as it was not the ride quality I was looking for.

Looks great, Mark. Black paint with black Sport Classics looks very stealthy.

Will miss my garnet/black 18 way seats though as new car comes with black 14 way. Wanted a bit of a meaner look externally than my current Agate on Spyders. Paint is Volcano - not black but difficult to tell on configurator.

have been running an SD on 21" turbo with no pasm for 6 months now.. and I find the ride quality very acceptable, granted it's no Q7 on air sus, but it sure is better than my wife's X5 40D running ordinary non runflat tyres.. I used to have Macan S petrol with air sus on 21" turbos and there isn't a massive difference compared with the SD I'm running, certainly not the difference I was expecting. Each to their own of course.

Full spec:
Volcano metallic,
Black sport classics 21”
Black leather package - 14 way comfort seats
Bi xenons in black with PDSL
Reversing camera
Pano roof
Roof rails painted black
Monochrome gloss black exterior
Side blades painted in volcano
Front seat heating
Heated steering wheel
auto dimming mirrors
Smoker pack
Porsche crests on front and rear seats
Black make and model badges

Would have preferred PASM rather than the Porsche exclusive bits but that’s the problem in taking a pre reg car.

It will certainly be interesting to compare given that I have been on 20” all season rubber for last 4 years.

it'll be a firmer ride for sure, plus the difference in compliance between all season vs. summer rubber will also play a factor. It'll look the dogs though 8-) nice car indeed!

Excellent Mark, looks like a nice spec and to be honest it wouldn't concern me all this stuff about diesels. If you got a decent discount then the SD really is an excellent all round Macan.
Current:
992 Turbo (July 23)
MG4 EV Trophy Long Range
VW Caravelle 6.1 4motion DSG
Suzuki Swift Sport

Previous Macan SD, Macan Turbo, Macan Turbo, 991.1 C4GTS coupe, 996 C4S coupe, Macan Turbo, 991.2 C4GTS coupe; 991.2 GT3; 992 C2S; 991.1 Turbo S
