I posted a question earlier today on an Alfa Forum asking what people thought of the Giulia Quadrifoglio versus an Audi RS4. I love this analogy which was part of a much broader response.

“RS4 or Guilia Quad? This is like comparing going out with a good looking German girl with a Phd in Physics vs an absolutely stunning Italian beauty who loves taking you out on the town for the best nights out you've ever had in your life. She might occasionally lose her temper, but it is more than worth it.”

Sorry, just realised I’d posted this in the main Macan chat area! [emoji44]

Give me the German any day. The Italian would be too highly strung for me and end up eating all the pies. Clever conversation beats looks every time in my book.

I do like an Italian :D

I have a soft spot for Alfa Romeos and have had a few over the years, but Alfa and Reliability unfortunately do not go together. I bought the wife a new Giulietta Veloce in 2011 and we owned it for 10 weeks with the Dealer having it for 6 of those  Traded it against a BMW 1 Series Coupe (same Dealer Group) to get away from it and Alfa were uninterested in giving me our money back when we tried to reject the car

That is the concern Martin. My heart says the Alfa would be a really fun car to drive and my head says the RS4 would be a much more sensible car to own.

The eternal conflict of head versus heart ;)

Although Wingco, you have the only live once attitude that sees you about to take delivery of a T! I’m really tempted by the Quadrifoglio. It’s one of the only cars where pretty much every single review is gushing about it. It definitely has a lot of theatre about it, but residuals and reliability are back of mind concerns. However, leasing rates from Alfa are good (no residual risk) and for a car that will do 4-5k miles pa, even if occasional issues, it wouldn’t be too disruptive. Although Sod’s law it would go wrong just when you really need it!

Driving it on Monday to see if all those reviewers are right!
