Highest Macan Mileage in a day?

I once did about 900 miles in one day. It was in my first car, a little black Fiat Uno. With a 1.2 litre petrol engine if I recall correctly. And the car's electrics did not like wet weather!

That must've been when you were young and brave(stupid). Having owned an Italian car the first thing I did was renew my AA membership. You should ring Fiat and tell them that one of their engines lasted 900 miles without at least two stints on a hard shoulder

Cornwall to Yorkshire on Xmas Day this year in petrol Macan S. Average 75mph

My average was 57mph over 690 miles so I can guess that you were certainly 'pressing on' and hoping the local Plod were enjoying their Turkey dinner at home

We were on a mission but the 370mile drive from parents-in-law in Newlyn was awesome - good weather, very little traffic, no police cars, ONE dutch lorry on the M42 and speed camera location knowledge! The Macan eats the miles but even the 75litre tank will not quite make the whole trip!

If we’re talking young and reckless - or just plain stupid...

In 1974 after having driven from Lancashire to Newhaven - about 270 miles - I took the ferry then did Dieppe to Catalunya, about 700 miles back then, in one hit. The continental leg must have been about 22 hours including fuel and comfort breaks. Somewhere near Brive I remember going into a bend and coming out of it, but have no recollection of going through it. Fortunately there was a lay-by just ahead where I grabbed a quick rest. . Oh and I was in a Hillman Imp!

That was quite a journey, i did similar in 1968.

We got the car ferry from Lydd to Le Touquet then drove to Zaragoza. There were quite a few dirt tracks once we got into Spain.

The ferry was amazing, you could sit in the cabin and look through the floorboards and line up with the hold floor boards to see the sea below.

I remember waking up in the middle of the night and we were stuck on the white line in France with the trees flying past either side and the speedo pegged as near as it could get to 130. The driver was content with a good supply of B&H and a scotch and soda behind the gear lever.

In the hotel we were on the table next to El Cordobes, a funny little chap surrounded by his posse of heavies.

Car was a Mk 2 Jag.

In 2010 I flew to Sucina, Spain to our apartment and drove back my Audi A6 2.5 TDi Quattro (2002) all the way home to Gretna, Scotland in just under 25 hours none stop except for the Ferry Crossing from Calais to Dover when I managed to get 1 hours sleep on the boat and probably snored for the full journey.

The only other stops were for fuel and the total distance covered was just over 1640 miles

What made the journey even harder was that I landed in Spain to lovely sunshine (8th January 2010), but when I hit the Pyranees north of Barcelona it started snowing and I had to drive right through France up the A71/A75 following snow ploughs at times as the roads were completely covered in snow. Thankfully the roads were quiet and when I got to the UK the snow had mainly disappeared.

I'm doing a one-day 950-mile trip to Catalonia in a few months time. Will probably hire something because we're coming back through Languedoc and the Rhone valley, and I doubt there will be enough room in the Macan for all the wine without leaving Noblewoman behind. Yes, I did consider it...

1968. That year was my first trip. I went on the train. Third class from La Junquera with goats and donkeys! And a prescient time to be there.

I thought Lydd-Le Touquet was an air ferry?

Every month from Brussels to Gordes (Provence) and back. The Macan is a great highway buddy. Drinks alot though...
