Correct, Mark. Just under £66K and many said it was a huge spec.

That’s what happened with the “first” model - launched in 2014 with S, SD and Turbo. GTS came along in mid 2016 (announced in Oct 2015 with first dealer deliveries right at the end of March ‘16)
1st Sapphire SD
2nd Sapphire GTS

So the GTS brings another tale following my call with the dealer this afternoon.

My understanding from the dealer is that a facelift Macan is to be announced later this year but the guy I spoke with seems to think that this will NOT apply to the GTS until much later.

Now I do not understand this. Am I to believe that when making Macans Porsche will build GTS's with the current design and the S and Turbo with the newer design? This does not make sense but I admit that I know little about the processes around such things.

He said that when the Macan was released the GTS did not come until about 2 years later but would this mean that it would only be eligible for a facelift 2 years after the S etc? That's what I'm being led to believe.

But would it follow that Porsche would manufacture two different designs once the facelift comes into production?

I suspect when the new model is launched it will be just the base 2.0 petrol, petrol S and Turbo with the GTS following later . So for a while a GTS will not be available. The new models will have new engines but fairly modest exterior and interior changes.
2021. Macan 2.0 Gentian. 12/21
2019. 718 Boxster T Carrara white.
2018. Macan SD Volcano.
2005. 987.1 Boxster S. Black.
2015 . Macan SD . Agate grey.
2014. Macan SD . Jet black.
2012. 981 Boxster PDK . Agate.
2010. 987.2 Cayman PDK. Aqua.

GTS is normally launched mid to end of a model life cycle so it sounds right to me

So it would make sense if they stopped producing the GTS temporarily.

Other manufacturers do a similar thing.
Audi will bring the RS models after the standard and S models.
Can be 6 months or so....

So it can then be a long wait for a GTS Delivery... But I would wait personally at this stage but put your interest with your OPC in early so when they are available you are at the top and Delivery may not be too long at all.
GTS 😀

Fortunately, Kas, I'm not in a hurry so can hold on for now although the dealer did mention they have a GTS in Sapphire Blue, which is the colour I'd go for, pre-ordered and highly spec'd :D

That was the worry for me , but I also think it might not be for another year until a GTS facelift will arrive. During that time the government will make more reasons to tax us on our cars, buy introductions of added extras that cause cars to weight more/ use more fuel , ie pan roofs, 18 way seats etc.. and subsequently higher the tax rate!
Macan GTS.Vol/ grey turbo 21s, Bose, Panroof, heated seats and steering wheel, 18 way , red belts, LEDs, light comf mem, privacy , compass, 18 spare wheel, aluminium inserts, auto dim mirrors, smoked,r/rails,p/assi. CAYMAN GTS now 😊
