New Car Storage...Dilemma

So the story is that we are currently living in central London with 1 car already (that barely gets driven) but we are moving back up North in September so will then require 2 cars to get around again.

We dont want to be in a situation where I have a brand new Macan GTS sat in an underground car park for 5 months, not being driven while still paying out for it.

Now when we put a deposit on the car the OPC were planning/hoping for some Q3 build slots for Macan GTS so timing wise the car would be built July/August time and it would suit our plans around moving.

Obviously Porsche have now effectively 'pulled the plug' and locked down all builds a couple of days ago so they can start with upgrading the factory etc.

This means our car has quickly locked down and is due for build 27th April, meaning a mid/late May delivery time.

Speaking with our very helpful SE, the OPC have agreed to store the car, leaving all delivery wrappings in place and keeping it in the showroom covered as much as possible. Whats more they have honoured the agreement that we will not have to pay for the car until just before collection August/September time.

Ultimately we don't want to be paying/storing for a car that is not going to get used for 5 months.

I know, cant thank the guys at OPC enough for being so accommodating ...especially as i'm a first time customer.

Good job we had fully agreed on spec quickly as it sound like the sudden lock down has peed quite a few customers off. Best get checking those of you waiting for a build.

Result! The car will be absolutely fine stored that way until you collect. Top marks to the OPC.

Normally I would of walked away but the facelift GTS will not be out until later 2019 so it was either take it now or wait a very long time.
