Hi all , as you might know I’m soon to become the proud owner of a Macan GTS, having spent the best part of a year to decide, and came to the conclusion that no other SUV / most hot hatches comes close to it in its all round abilities, so when I browse Autotrader and see low mileage GTS for sale I wonder why? And on this forum I have seen people sell their GTS ‘s, Turbos , PP, SD’s variants. Is it just a natural progression to another model? Or is it something else....... MPG , service costs, customer service, reliability, etc.

I sold my Macan SD.....and bought a GTS. Entirely due to a change in circumstance / annual mileage dropping from 15K to now 10-12K max.
Like you, if I were to change now I genuinely can’t think of a better all round replacement (without buying 3 or even 4 more specialist vehicles)

I think the Macan is a great car. I’ve had excellent service from various Porsche dealerships and product quality is superb IMO.

I sold my Macan SD because .... I probably should have bought a GTS from the outset, some concerns about diesel and mostly because I’m just still not sure that a SUV is for me. So as you know, I’m moving on to the Giulia Quadrifoglio and hoping that a super saloon is for me!

There’s also part of me that says there are a lot of great cars out there and it’s fun to experience them. I just need to learn Arif’s way of doing it without sinking so much money each time! [emoji15]

I agree with Paul, I think a lot have either just replaced with another such as S to GTS etc, some continue to work through the Porsche range and there are those that very frequently switch their cars brands as they like or their needs change. Not that aware of many moving on due to poor experiences? I am biased but I think my turbo is brilliant, getting the spec right for you first time is important and then it's a case of how often you wish/want to change. This is just my opinion and I'm sure others will share.

I sold my Macan Turbo to get a GTS. Loving the GTS after 18 months and no plans to change it. I actually prefer the GTS out of the 2 and would probably only change for the facelift version in a couple of years.

I lived in a strange area on the Staffordshire / Shropshire border which has it had its own micro climate, sunny everywhere else but snowing where I lived.
We moved there with a Boxster but it couldn't really deal with the slopes / snow so we went for 4WD's TTS's & RRE (mistake) and then back to Porsche for the Macan Petrol S, however as we are now moving again in August 18 we started looking for a 911.

So I sold my Macan last August for two reasons:
1. I am moving
2. I was offered too great a deal to miss by two OPC's to buy a 911 (which should be rolling off the production line tomorrow :-))

PS. There is only Mrs Spook and I plus a 19 year old cat so the 911 is big enough for us as a daily driver.
Holidays have been spend in the US since 1991 and we use a taxi to the airport, so no luggage problems.

Wanted a 911 since I was 19, and Macan was sensible first step, we have 2 cars so have alternative for tasks it is less suitable for, having said that it is intended to be used for everyday use (perhaps ;) ).
My Macan SD was a 95% perfect car, my only issues were; it was bigger than I liked or needed, it was not a sports car and a GTS/Turbo would not have solved that issue, for me a sports car is not about its speed.
Other reasons for seeing low mileage Macan on the market is an unsustainable lifestyle choice or fickle tastes ;) I would guess.

Macan 1 because it was a diesel, but a fabulous car.
Macan 2 because Mrs B found a Panamera Hybrid she liked. I would not have changed through an OC but I sold the S privately.
Trying the Panamera for a year or so, but I'll be back in a Macan next car change, ether a GTS or Turbo, it will depend on colour & options.

Like Ferdie, I have loved Porsches forever, and especially the iconic 911.

After 20+ years in company cars, I had a lightbulb moment towards the end of 2015 and decided that I could finance a car myself for no more cost than the tax and my contribution towards an upgraded company car.

At that time I was nearing the end of 3 years with an Evoque, which to be fair, was a perfectly good car.

In March 2016 I took delivery of my first ever Porsche, a Macan 2.0 in Rhodium Silver with gloss black 21" Sport Classics and 18-way sports seats. I was a member of the Porsche Family!

Then the bug bit very hard and I quickly changed the Macan for a pre-owned 911, a 991.1 C2. Lovely though the Macan was, I realised that my dream of a 911 parked outside my house was within reach! From a financial point of view, trading in a month old Macan with 1,000 miles on the clock was not my finest hour!

I ran the 911 for 8 months, during which time I covered 11k blissful miles.

Then my guilt kicked in, as the back of the 911 was somewhat cramped for my daughters on my fortnightly visits to Kent. So I looked for a four door/four seat 911 and settled on the new Panamera 4!

I've now had the Panny for a year and covered 17k miles, but my heart still yearned to be back in a 911. So serious conversations were had with my daughters, and my girlfriend. My older daughter now has a car of her own, a four seater. Plus, my girlfriend has access to a 7-seat people carrier.

All involved kindly humoured me and 'approved' my decision to replace the Panny with my second 911. With the help of forum member Virage, I located a build slot for a new Carrera T. The build completed at the end of last week and, all being well, I'll collect in on 6th April! :)

Having said all of the above, if anyone is looking for a sporty, mid-size, well engineered and top quality SUV, the Macan is without doubt the pick of the bunch! :D

I think it’s apparent that buying a Porsche seems to be a start of a journey.... nice to hear that everyone so far has stayed in the “Welcome to the Family “ that’s the first thing the sales Manager said to me once I had ordered the Macan.... I guess that this forum is also a credit to that.
