I think the GT3 might have a higher fuel consumption!

Wing Commander wrote: Tue Apr 03, 2018 10:24 pm Great review, VanB. Thanks for sharing. Your pleasure with your new steed is evident from every word that you write. :)

Am pretty sure that Nick has a PDK. (Mine will be a manual transmission.)

Regarding Normal mode, I think it would be more accurate if Porsche called it economy mode, as it is super-keen to change up through the gears from one to eight.

WingCo - you are quite right about economy mode rather than normal mode. I tend really only to use this on the motorway or in stop start traffic. I find fuel consumption to be about 10% more in sport v economy but well worth every drop of fuel!

I have felt the same way before about other 911 threads but it always ends up in the same place - a 911!

Hmm, time for a sweepstake on who in the "Waiting Room" is the next 911 owner: Paul/Dandock/Ian.g/ ...? ;)

Nice report VanB:-
- You seem to get the same fuel economy as my 3.4C2, which I though was OK for 345BHP! - so that is great :o ;
- I agree with WinCo on normal mode, I don't think it is so much turbo lag (have briefly driven a couple of 991.2s and did not notice it) rather the throttle/gear-change response is softened. You can say it’s for economy (which you are proving works) but I would also say to accommodate the less attuned driver to help stop them being torpedoed into the back of the car in front .

Apropos of nothing - I let the missus have a drive on the weekend, and she affirmed that it was as easy (and similar) to drive as her Mini :? (don’t think we saw much over 2000RPM).
