Good to hear. I may contact them. I'm in the middle between Hatfield and Cambridge. Bought my last from Hatfield but the guy I was dealing with has left.

My recent conversations have felt a bit too "salesy".

Nice GTS family you’re starting! I drove both PDK and manual 911GTS at Porsche’s Sport Driving Experience and found them to be brilliant cars and incredibly capable (More so than me).

I’m curious how you get such a license plate in England? Here it’s rather simple but I’ve heard people have to bid on them in the UK?

For example, in the US, for $25 these choices could be mailed to me in 2-3 weeks:

All number plates in the UK are issued by the DVLA and you can only buy what they issue and cannot create your own. Whilst you can buy any number plates for a similar price to what you quote they would be classed as “show plates” and cannot be assigned to a vehicle.

In addition, all number plates placed on a vehicle should be of the size, font and layout as set by law. That’s not to say that everyone follows that and those that don’t are breaking the law.

Generally speaking the fewer letters / numbers or those that make up a significant name cost the most.

I believe 25O was the most expensive plate sold at £518K. This once belonged on a Ferrari 250SWB owned by Eric Clapton.

I once saw a Mercedes with a number plate that I considered racist albeit the driver could consider it an abbreviation for the county he originates from. I won't repeat it here but have just checked and it is no longer assigned to a vehicle.

Whether it has since been recalled or sitting on retention I don't know.
