Hi all
Iv'e specced this Macan https://www.porsche.com/microsite/porsc ... =/PJ1HZFH4 on the Porsche configurator (£ 68,706.00) although I don't intend to order it. The reason being is that I'll be viewing an identical used one at an OPC. The OPC car is a 66 registration and has done 14,948 m. The asking price is £60.000.

I also have a part exchange which they're happy to offer me what I'm asking. Without knowing Porsche profit margins It does make me wonder how much they paid for the car and how much room there is to haggle. What do you guys think.

Imagine they will have paid 53 to 54k for it - Porsche like a good little profit margin. Sure they have some costs, not so much involving the actual car and preparation, more to do with the big fancy showroom you will sit in to buy the car. I would happily have a much less fancy showroom and save a couple of grand if it was an option.

The OPC probably paid around £53/54k so the first owner took a hit of approx £14/15k,the OPC might negotiate alittle but don’t expect to much especially as they are giving you what you want for your P/X,personally and this is my opinion Carmine Red is not everybody’s cup of tea and sometimes not as easy to re-sell as some other colours.

Thanks guys. Not a bad profit margin then. Now I won't feel silly asking them to come down in price a little

My OPC advertised my part exchange Macan diesel at between £6000 to £7000 more than they gave me for it and it seems to have sold.

I sold my Macan SD to an independent and they marked it up by about £4K supporting the difference in OPC margins eluded to above.

Looking at what my OPC have my SD on for then is only £4k more than they gave me can only assume the profit in the new GTS was sufficient, howver they also gave me a discount so it only reconfirms to me it was a fair deal for me, i would push them Cyprio you can only ask whats the worst they can say
