We finally picked ours up on Friday afternoon. Apparently, because we collected it from Leipzig on April 9th and drove it back, it was supplied before the new legislation came into force on April 12th. Therefore it could be released to us, even though UK registration was after April 12th.

In the meantime the OPC had removed the offending phone repeater and then replaced it again after they got the go ahead to release the car! So we have one of the last high power phone repeaters in our car, from now on they will be a bit less powerful but almost as effective I’m told. No recall will be required to modify it because it only applies to new cars built after April 12th.

I hope that helps to clarify things a bit more for those who are stuck in the system.

You remind me of my neighbour, not in looks, but because he would lean on my car especially after I had just cleaned it!

I spoke to my SE yesterday asking for an update on my order and he told me all the issues are now sorted and there will be no further delays.
In other news he reckons my car should be with them by the end of this month or very early May, which is miles ahead of schedule. Not sure how long it will take to prep but I am starting to get excited now.
He also offered me a test drive in their new Cayenne S, which I am hoping to take him up on tomorrow.
Happy days!

Hi Macman I saw that beauty in the flesh- that looks like Bolton and I think I walked past you and your car on Friday afternoon - I was picking up a cover for my GT3. Enjoy your new car.

That was me at Bolton! I was uncomfortable putting my sweaty hand on the car but it was vital for the relaxed pose! Anyway after a couple of journeys in the rain the hand mark is covered up with road grime now

My GTS - September 2016 build is in for it's 20,000 mile service. Had to leave it in overnight because there is a "technical bulletin" requiring a change to the phone repeater. I can only assume therefore that it will apply to all cars that have not had the alteration completed at the respective factory. When I collect the car tomorrow I will ask to see the work sheet and possibly report further.
