“When an attached trailer is detected (bicycle carrier connector or trailer connector plugged in)
The Auto Start Stop function must be deactivated manually if a trailer hitch from another manufacturer is installed on the vehicle.”

Presumably there is some way of switching it off so that you don’t get a constant alarm?
Apparently not.

Sadly not.

Yes but that's not the problem here. Turning it off has no effect on the stupid warning chime.

I agree it’s annoying but I seem to have tuned it out. When I’m towing, 99% of the miles don’t involve stopping so it’s only at the start and end of the journey that I notice it.

Keep my tow bar out, no issues, however a friend's Q5 registers his as a proximity warning when he reverses possibly a software issue to be fixed.

My first service changed the reverse view slightly, I reported it to be fixed next service.

Our Q5 registers the towbar as a proximity alert in reverse and so did the previous one. Wish there was a way to combat the tailgate opening disabledment, without disconnecting the electrical hitch? I guess it's a simple, cover all situations, paintwork saver though!

As I recall if there was an electrical connection then Sart/Stop was OFF. Certainly was no warning about it. Obvioulsy got trailor symbol up when reversing. No issues unless some safety require has changed it??
