I've noticed a strange phenomenon when using my factory fit towbar. Every time the car comes to a halt I get a warning chime and "auto start stop disabled" message on the dash. Now I wouldn't mine if it did it once per journey but it's happening every time the car comes to a halt. A right royal PITA when queuing at dartford for 20 mins the other day. This is with a brand new Atera bike rack on the tow bar.
Does any one else have this problem or can anyone suggest how I might stop it?

I tow a trailer regularly and have never had that message.

I have the same, everytime I hook up my Porsche bike rack. Drives me nuts. Don’t use it often though. Was planning on having dealer have a look at it at first service.
Have checked the “Good to know” app and the Auto Stop Start function is not available in a number of scenarios including:
“When an attached trailer is detected (bicycle carrier connector or trailer connector plugged in)
The Auto Start Stop function must be deactivated manually if a trailer hitch from another manufacturer is installed on the vehicle.”
Presumably there is some way of switching it off so that you don’t get a constant alarm?

I haven't tried it but maybe if you switch it off via the button it will stop the warning.

Thanks for the replies. With the bike carrier plugged in the Start Stop button on the centre console has no effect. You still get the annoying warning and chime every time the car comes to a halt. Same with the car in Sport mode which normally disables start stop.
