Speaking to my SE today and he seems to think Diesel Macan will be resurrected by the end of the year (would this tie in with the face lift model?).
Also mentioned a Cayenne Diesel is also due to be announced.
The Cayenne hybrid official launch is the 2nd of May for those that are interested.

If they don't bring back the diesel (or something similar) they won't sell as many cars - simple :D :D :D

I would not be surprised, however what fix has been applied this time, until that subject is transparent, I’m not interested, if it changes I would be interested again. Will have to wait until the WLTA figures I guess that’s a start point for choosing Diesel or petrol models.

Bosch have announced they have an engineering solution to NOX levels for new Diesel engines. The article (I can't recall where I read it) mentioned something like a 10 fold decrease in NOX exhaust. From memory 13 mg instead of the allowed 120 per km. The comment with the article was whether this solution would be for real world driving and for the life of the engine. Diesel doesn't seem to be as dead as we feared.

Steve
Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 (3 litre, 367bhp) - in the end I went for that rather than a Macan S - sorry!

Porsche seem to change their mind overnight with diesel so who knows what they'll decide tomorrow.

Relative to depreciation costs, the savings aren't that great so I'd just stick to petrol .

Those with confidence in their political masters will disagree.

Despite the encouraging signs there is still going to be the major problem to overcome.

Temperature.

Moving the kit closer to the engine will no doubt help, but the oil burner is still going to struggle to get up to temperature by the time the SD gets a couple of miles down the road to the Supermarket or when it is on the school run.

Maybe a plug in system which preheats the water and oil (as fitted in very cold climates) will help in getting the engine up to temp quicker.
