I tried to extend my warranty at just under 1 year old (to avoid the 111 point check) but was told that I could wait until just under 2 years old (with just over 1 year remaining) and still avoid the 111 point check. I know this is contrary to the Porsche website, but the person I spoke to (Tewkesbury) told me that the check is payable to the OPC and this is what they have always done. If an extended warranty car is sold back to an OPC it is lost and they put a new 2 year warranty on it. If it is sold outside the Porsche network, it is kept with the car. Not a factor if yours is about to run out and you plan to keep the car, but might be relevant for anyone adding one before this stage.

I think whether the check is chargeable will depend on the OPC.

The extended warranty will stay with the car if car is sold privately or back to OPC, will lapse if sold to dealer (non OPC).

Before end of two year, extension not subject to inspection, they indicated next extension even if in next two year period may require the inspection has anyone had one long enough to advise further?

That’s the wrong way round. If sold to OPC any extra warranty is lost and they put a new 2 year one on. If sold to a private individual or non-OPC dealer the car keeps whatever extra warranty has been added.

My OPC has given me a one year extended warranty on a new vehicle and have told me that if/when I return or exchange the car with them it will add value since they would have to buy an extended warranty from Porsche GB.

I will try and find the document tonight. Only renewed in Mar so am quite confident about it.

Also had to pay for the 111 as it was towards the end of 3 year.

Here is the change of ownership statement. Guess as owner you have nothing to lose whoever you sell it to.

😉
Pushing that forward...you could be better off selling to a non-franchised dealer; anecdotally higher prices plus a pro-rata refund on any unexpired portion of the warranty!

Interesting. That certainly isn’t what they told me so thanks for posting. If I do take it out I will ask to see the policy first so I know exactly what I am paying for.

I extended the warranty by 2 years on my Macan SD today, and had my first MOT. Porsche Wolverhampton kindly waived the 'inspection fee', and lent me this Cayman for the day. Driving a conspicuous car like this certainly takes some getting used to, so I have a new found respect for WingCo! I also think that the residents of Ironbridge were finding the sports exhaust a little tiresome after our third pass through the centre :D
