I see the new Cayenne is now on the Porsche UK configurator. The Macan looks visually far fresher in design terms and seems to me to be better value.

£70k+ for ba Cayanne seems pricey compared to a £55k Macan S. The refresh is quite a disappointment. For those who bought the run out Platinum edition did well IMHO.
Sold: 2014 Macan Diesel S in Jet Black.
Sold: 2016 Macan GTS in Jet Black.
Cancelled: 2017 Macan Turbo + PP in Jet Black for a RRS.
Ordered: 2019 992 C4S in Jet Black.
To be ordered 2019 Macan Turbo / Turbo S / Turbo + PP. Yeah, it’ll be in Jet Black!

I agree. The run out platinum edition should hold its value very well.

Was both disappointed and pleased, disappointed the makeover of the Cayenne was really quite minor, but also pleased that the changes had not diluted the Macans appeal.

I think that you are right to be pleased. The new Cayenne is not likely to be a serious competitor to the Macan in view of its higher price and lack of visual appeal.

I configured a Cayenne turbo to the same spec as my Macan turbo and it comes in at £98k v £65k. Given both do sub 5.0s 0-60 the pricing of the Macan seems like a bargain. Unless you need/want the extra space of the Cayenne I can't see why anyone would buy one now.
Macan 1 - jet black turbo with 20" RS spyders now sold
Macan 2 - volcano grey GTS with black 20" RS spyders now sold
Macan 3 - dolomite silver GTS loving it
also 981 Boxster S

I notice that the 3 litre diesel is now twin turbo.

Is the base diesel now a twin turbo - are you sure thats not the higher spec Diesel S

It's a bit of a 'Munter' compared to the Macan..I see a lot of sales migrating to its little brother.
