I have had the rear centre apron painted on my Macan and really glad I did. I am of the opinion the black plastic looks a bit unfinished and think the painted panel makes a big difference. The factory option is £300.00 and the aftermarket paint job was £200.00.

Piercy,

Good on ya! Did you get the lower part painted as well? The SportDesign package I have gone for looks as if its all painted but just the same as normal but not too sure.. (I know the front is completely different).

What about the mirror arms - did you get those done too? Tongue I didn't tick that as a blind man with a glass eye wouldn't notice...Ouch (I would though)Wink

Ha ha... no, I specifically chose to have just the centre section painted as I quite like the look of the splitter. I didn't think about the mirrors to be honest, but, as the car is black the lower section of the mirrors doesn't really notice. I'll get a picture or two up at the W/E.

I would get the side skirts painted while it's in the body shop (if you don't have them painted already).

Does it look ok with the side skirts not matching, I have toyed with it for a while and would love a picture for comparison.

I don't really notice the un painted side skirts as my car is black anyway and worry about stone chips etc

I have the sport design painted side skirts and haven't noticed any chips yet. I'll get a photo uploaded of both at the weekend.

I was interested in the sports design skirts but could get no info anywhere (even the dealer) on what they look like, I would appreciate a picture certainly

Fcuk it. Looks great!

I am concerned how pepper dashed that paint will become with those huge tyres, hence my trepidation with ordering that part painted....

I have checked today and there are no stone chips on either side..Yet.. Our Boxster is getting on for a couple of years old and has painted side skirts, on checking there seems to be a little road rash but certainly not worth the expense of painting. I believe the painted side skirts really do look good, are worth the cost and if necessary ill paint them when they look a bit tired. Piercy2014-08-08 21:07:11
