Mobile phone holders

Any suggestions out there for mobile phone holders that don’t involve sticking or screwing something to the dash or using an ugly suction pad on the windscreen?

I bought something for my last 2 cars which clipped on to the vent but in both cars it actually broke the vent slat it was affixed to. No way am I taking that chance on the GTS.

Anyone come across anything that doesn’t leave a trace?

Cheers.

Have a look at this one paul, it fits in one of the drinks holders.

I've used Brodit clips in several cars and found them to be very good: http://www.dsldevelopments.com

I have a Rennline holder for my iPhone 8 Plus, which is too big to fit in the pocket provided under the centre armrest. I like to be able to see the phone while driving as I find my TomTom app is way better than either the PCM one or the Apple Car Play one.

It took me about a minute to install and you can fit it either side of the centre console. The only downside is that it does obscure the temperature and fan speed controls on the side you choose.

Also, it's magnetic, so dead easy to just plonk the phone on position.

Now you're really spoiled for choice!

my TomTom app

Wife bought a new iphone 8 on Sunday and the TomTom app won't migrate over to her new system. Are you using the TomTom Go? I agree with it being far better than PCM or Apple or Google - I am using the old Western Europe and it's great. I usually change phones every two years (I'm on a 7+) and when the new model comes out in September, I'd expect to lose my old TomTom app too. It wasn't cheap either!

I'm using a Brodit clip Mount #635012 that clips onto the n/s of the centre console

http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/r ... roclip.asp..

Just (carefully) moved it across from my old SD to new Turbo, without any damage / residual trace evidence.

Screwed onto that, is a £4.99 phone holder from Amazon - one that comes with a screen mount /sucker arm.
Discard the arm, just modify the remaining clip slightly (Dremel / small hacksaw) and you get a great solution …..

This looks like it could be worth a go. I bought a cup holder one (as suggested above) which is ok except for the fact that as a waze user I can’t see the phone without really diverting my attention away from the wheel.

So I’m going to try the Rennline one and my wife will get the loser.

Thanks for all the help people.
