Hi guys, just wondering if those of you that have the air suspension drive it often in the “low” setting? Any downsides?

I keep it in low most of the time. There's not a huge difference but, whilst you have to look for it, I think the car looks marginally better being low slung. I saw somewhere that it gives improved mpg. I've not noticed any downsides and really love the comfort that air suspension gives to the ride. I would definitely spec it again.

No.

Very rarely use the low setting.

Always on low on normal roads.

Lowers CoG for improved handling.
Reduces drag for improved fuel usage.
No brainier really.

Will put it in normal height on loose/rough surfaces, though and high occasionally.

The extra ride height ‘normal’ gives is useful for some people, but you’d get more pronounced effect by raising the seat.

The only other difference is in aesthetics.

Note that by default, you go low if you engage sport or sport plus modes (can be overridden and the Car remembers)

Most modern cars with air suspension automatically lower the ride at speed anyway for efficiency / handling reasons.

Much the same, low whenever I remember, usually low with Sport and ACC for cruising.

Off road when there's any hint of stones or i'm going off road obvs!

Always on low.

And having just spent a week’s holiday about a mile down a rough and rutted track i can also attest to the benefit of the off-road mode. It cranked up the height and hardened up the damping.

I find the suspension feels different on the low setting. I would describe it as tighter with less movement than on the normal setting. Not firmer but more controlled.

So, I find myself using normal and low suspension settings and all three PASM settings in different combinations at different times, depending on the road and my mood.

Smooth motorway - low + PASM Sport
Enjoying myself on a B road - low + PASM Sport Plus
Bath's pot-holed streets - normal + PASM comfort
etc.
