Off on a Low Loader Today
Whilst waiting at a junction the engine cut in and out a few times before requiring a manual restart. Immediately a large engine symbol came up and a message something like Engine Management Malfunction Sade to Drive. Contact Dealer. I did so immediately. On hearing the message was orange they arranged a pick up from home agreeing the best thing to do was to drive home. On the way home the warning went down although a stop start deactivated notice kept coming on. On reaching home and turning off and restarting no messages at all appeared. The car was lifted and I await a courtesy vehicle.

That’s what I was thinking. It didn’t half bong at me. I suppose it depends what record is stored on the car. There were no alerts on my message centre.

Oh dear. I hope they get you sorted. Sounds very strange.

Car ready today. DPF was a bit sooty. They have performed a regen. They are saying it was just doing what it says on the tin. How that includes an Orange warning and a Call Dealer message I do not understand. My annual mileage is 15000 with more time spent in Sport Mode than I would care to admit so it just doesn’t quite ring true.

Ahhh...the dreaded DPF! Caused me to bin my SD. But judging from your mileage you probably are better off in a diesel than petrol!
But, but, here's the rub. DPFs only do active regens in specific circumstances. You should check out the threads on here. Failing that take some time to have a look on YouTube for detailed explanations, and even ask your Porsche garage. Mine were helpful and helped me switch over but my mileage isn't anywhere close to you. It is quite possible for you to do mileage and not for the regen to happen. The car needs to sit above 2000 rpm for a specific period of time (at least 20 min or so), in motion (so not in neutral thrashing it on the drive!) when the onboard systems say it is time for a regen! That bit is a minefield.
Your Porsche garage would have diagnostics on individual trips the car has made. Ask them to advise. It could be a lot of your smaller ones contributed to this.

That sounds strange to me. Would it not have flashed up a DPF warning light in advance?
