Thought my Mazda had decided to do a DPF regen yesterday so did a 20 mile detour on the A120 to let it do it's thing.

When I finally stopped the light was still on.

Put my glasses on and it was the adjacent cruise control on light!

  only vehicle that I an think of that does 15k miles of a year of only short trips is a milk float. I used to do 18kmiles/year in my SD and never noticed any re-gen nom. 80 miles/day. Certainly that cycle suited my SD well, not that help you any :? .

A typical day for me is 7 miles to work then a 30 mile round the houses trip home. Plus a 25 mile motorway dash once a week. That’s 25 + 25.

Tom, if that kind of mileage doesn't keep the DPF regened there's something wrong IMHO.

I blame the sensors. There was soot in but whether it was excessive I do not know.

Our Macan went in to limp mode today after the DPF warning light coming on. Apparently according to the OPC if there is less than a quarter of a tank of fuel in the car, it is impossible to regenerate the DPF. We love the car but surely it is not fit for purpose. The only way to regenerate the DPF now is to run the car at 4500rpm static in the workshop until the DPF regenerates..... yet we regularly give the car a blast! I don’t want this every 8,500 miles. Do we have a case for a refund? We don’t want a petrol Macan as they are too thirsty. We never had such an issue with our BMW 525d M-Sport!

Have they said it is the DPF? The finger was pointed at mine but I don’t think it was choked with coke. Also mine drove normally with light on and the light cleared in about half a mile.

Am slightly confused - your picture shows a full tank; could you not drive it?
