Hi All,
Whilst my Cayenne is delayed, I have decided to take a plunge and am taking delivery of a Macan in Petrol 2.0, night blue with luxor beige, several options (incl. heated seats, cam, pan roof, heated steering wheel, 20s Spyders, amongst other things).
Question I have is that I usually go to the Alps winter time and have a set of Winter tyres used on my GLC 43 being px'd - my tyres are Continetal Cross Contact Winters 255/50/20. Will they fit the 20 alloys of the Macan?
I can see Summer tyres on the car 265/45/20 on fronts and 295/40/20 on rears. Any advice?
Taking delivery of the car tomorrow and very much looking forward to it
New Macan - Question re Winter tyres on 20s
No. They are the wrong width. the 255 of your tyres is the width in mm. You need 265 for the front and 295 for the rear. Your best bet if you only want them for 1 trip is to buy a set of 18inch second hand ones of ebay then sell them on again afterwards.
Be careful which winter tyres you buy, especially if you plan to travel to Germany at any stage - they brought in new regulations on 1 Jan 18 which basically mean any new (manufactured from Jan 18) 'winter' tyres need to have the 'three peaks snowflake' symbol.
If you have tyres manufactured before 31 Dec 17, then you can get away with the 'M&S' marking until Sep 24 and meet the German legal requirements, but in this case it would be prudent to carry the tyre receipt, especially on a newer car!
