Having currently been provided with a hire car whilst my McCann is under investigation I am wondering who I am in contract with regard to the Hire Car. The hire man who left it off was going on about chip damage and so on and trying to flog extra insurance cover. I declined and have signed nothing. He did take a £1 Security deposit by card which I know was a ruse to get my card details. I am driving under their insurance. Who is the wrangle with in the event of a dispute?

I do not remember giving a token or any CC deposit when they provide a loan for a week.

Opposite in fact about chip damage, no real interest by their Rep but I did ensure the handover had every mark on the car shown.

I had a Merc courtesy car through Porsche Assist from Enterprise. I marked every scratch and dent on the form and they still tried to sting me for £200. They did the same, wanted CC details from me before they'd give me the car. Took me ages to get it retracted. Their loss, I'll never use Enterprise for a personal hire and I tell everyone and anyone I meet to avoid them. Bunch of Shysters.

I didn't bother going through Porsche with my dispute, I'm quite happy to tell them to f*** off myself. I'd covered the form in damage marks anyway so they had no way out of it. It was delivered to me nearly empty of fuel and I marked that too. I dropped it off at Hatfield OPC with about 10p worth of petrol left in the tank.

My courtesy car is pristine. 150 miles on the clock. Going back this morning so hopefully no issues. I intend looking into this for future reference though.

The service representative was quite clear that my arrangement for a loan car was with Porsche and they rented the car from Enterprise. I registered my displeasure at giving card details etc and the promised to look into the matter.

^ If and when I extend my Warranty for an extra 2 years I don't think I'll bother extending the Porsche Assist element. An extra two years Porsche Assist costs £275!!! I think for my simple needs I'll manage with the free Breakdown cover that I receive from Nationwide :D
