In the end, I got a bit more privately so sold it that way. He charged about half what the OPC were wanting for a major service.
Interesting this one - didn't know about them so good to have an alternative...!

McMillan are highly rated Terry for sure and I wouldn't mind using them for brakes or similar but think for servicing I would like to have the Porsche stamp and all the updates etc a dealer can do that a specialist more than likely cannot access.

I was pretty shocked reading Col needed rear pads at only 25k miles then read of someone else needing pads and discs all round at such low miles. Can that really have been needed so early or sounds more like a dealer printing money for themselves.

Always worth asking the question, especially for brakes or the like. I agree that for the first few services it would be worthwhile sticking with the OPC.
PS. How did Malone go today?

Yup, service has been done at Porsche but may consider brakes elsewhere if cost is too high...

I had to change rear pads etc on my Evoque before at 20k miles and I don’t carry anything in the rear....

My OPC gave me a "rough guide" for discs and pads which was ~ £900 for the front and £800 for the rears!

Mine is due in tomorrow with pad warning light on at 29k miles. Does anyone have a view on whether the discs should or shouldn't need replacing? I would expect the discs to last two sets of pads, but suspect the dealer will try and say different.....

They will (or should) measure the disc thickness to ensure th3 discs are in tolerance. I would think it highly unlikely you’ll need discs on the first set of pads...(unless they’ve become scored)

Just dropped it off, and the service rep says " Macans normally need new discs at the same time as they are lightweight discs". I tell him that shouldn't need it, as per your comment, he says they will look......

...really hacks me off that basically I don't trust them...

Discs are something I change myself. Generally very very easy to do, genuine parts not too bad with a discount, fitting costs are the biggest part.

I realise that not everyone may be comfortable doing this....

Totally p*ssd at their attitude myself, definitely left with the impression that Macan is beneath them.
