Despite me doing an active regen of the dpf on Sunday 22nd July and doing 550 Motorway miles over this last weekend the regen warning light came on this afternoon meaning that I had to waste 30 mins tonight blasting down the M62 for no reason other than to clear the dpf. Why cannot Porsche programme the electronics to allow drivers to choose to do a regen when they are on the motorway. I was on the motorway for over 4 hours yesterday when the car could easily have done a regen. I don’t know what you would do if you did not live near a motorway as I cannot see how you could drive constantly at over 2000 rpm for 20 mins if you were not on a motorway.

I think there's something wrong here. Clearly, the car should have been doing passive regens during that weekend trip so I can't see why it should be needing an active regen now.

What fuel are you using? You've no doubt been talking to the OPC about this pattern?

Will be talking to Porsche tomorrow. Cannot see why I would need another regen 8 days after the last one and the day after a long motorway drive. I only use Shell diesel.

Could be worth trying V-Power Plus. I know you shouldn't have to, but since the software 'upgrade' maybe V-Power might make the difference.

+1. Since return to UK in January I've been using exclusively Shell V-Power and never had any problems with my SD.

Usually you don't. You might detect slightly different revs on tickover, higher temperatures under or around the car when you get out, slight smells, maybe cooling fans running. All this is quite normal.

For an 'active' regen though, you will get a message up on the dash telling you to drive at a minimum of 2000 rpm for X minutes, or similar wording.

I find it quite a hot car in terms of heat wafting around outside. I did a fairly energetic Motorway drive the other day. Only 20 mins or so but it must have hummed for at least 10 mins afterward.
