My 21k was on Pirelli summer tyres (swapped out every winter for Pirelli Scorpions). My current summer tyres are Michelin Latitudes. It will be interesting to see if I get better mileage with these or whether I'm just heavy footed. :)

My new Macan is now on 21” Pirelli P Zeros and I clearly will not get anything like the same mileage out of these tyres as I did with the 20” Michelins as the tread depth from new is less.

So now I'm adopting the head in sand approach and wont concern myself with it's value till we become tempted to change.

You certainly wouldn't have been any better off with a Mazda, mine's had a history of software updates, EGR work and AdBlu system failures.

The oil level rises due to diesel dilution when regeneration is too frequent and carbon is pushed into the oil from the injectors.

This causes the oil pickup to block which is slightly bad for the engine.

With an observant driver it's made 100k but i doubt there are many reaching that mileage if they're all the same.

I suspect the fundamental problem is that all the changes for Euro 4, 5, 6 have been pushed in too fast.

Most of our larger diesel engine problems are down to aspects of the pollution control systems; it's no longer basic spanner repairs either, if you change an injector it's £300 plus a few hours with a laptop plugged in to recalibrate.

Our Macan has 44k on its original Michelin AS tyres and there is still quite a depth left. Mind you, it's all motorway miles.

I'm sure there's a link between my tyre mileage and the fact that I've only managed 35mpg over 32k miles.

Mind you I've enjoyed every one of those miles. :D

Mine too - 41k miles and easily another 10k left?

Need to start another poll...who has got the most mileage out of their tyres...and were they all season?
