SD residuals - What's the verdict?
I’m sure SD residuals will stabilise if not firm over coming months. As nsm3 said the reality is that the Macan is a 2 tonne truck, albeit a dynamically very capable one, and consequently it’s well suited to a Diesel engine. Even in diesel guise it is quick and probably quicker than needed on UK roads

You know what guys just enjoy your Macan be it Diesel or Petrol, I’ve had both great cars, I love my current GTS but have to admit that I feel the mid torque of the Diesel is as good, in the early days (2014) we could make a profit on the car but that’s long since gone, IMO there will always be a market for top marque Diesels just enjoy, worry about residuals later

Hi, just had mine serviced at 40k after 18 months, decided to take out an extended 2 year warranty to hedge my bets at change over time at end of next year when the pcp expires.
The SD is the perfect blend of performance, comfort and (relative) economy for me.
Btw, had a 320d m sport as a courtesy car for a week whilst I had a corroded radiator replaced under warranty, gosh the ride was harsh and brutal even when on a motorway. So glad to be back in the dear old Macan even on 20 inch spyders plus air sus.
I do wonder if the diesel backlash will continue against modern diesels like ours with some added perspective over the next 12 months, but when it comes to changing, I can’t see higher mileage drivers switching to to a petrol powered SUVs. For me, if I do change, I won’t be going for a petrol facelift Macan, I’ll either switch marque entirely very reluctantly .... or maybe go for the 992 (or used 991 4 GTS) and hell to the better fuel economy !

Hear, hear! Having gone from a 2.0 Macan to a 991.2 Carrera T, via a 991.1 C2 and a 2017 Panamera 4, absolutely no regrets! Mine’s a daily driver likely to do 15k to 18k miles a year. Depreciation and fuel consumption?! Pah! You only live once!
I think the value of 991.1 GTSs are holding pretty firm.

Another review from a couple of years ago:

It just shows how difficult it will be for anyone wanting a high performance diesel SUV to find anything approaching the Macan SD.

Residuals are academic unless you sell it.
I think the value will come down to whether there is more talk of councils and government penalising diesel.
As far as I know in the UK, there is no additional cost for a Euro 6, although some boroughs apparently charge more for parking diesels .
