gtipirelli wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 8:22 am Just had a read of the link at the top of the thread and power of the base model is being quoted as 245bhp with a combined consumption of about 34 mpg. Bit of a retrograde step on the power front in my eyes as the current 252 bhp motor hardly sets your pants on fire

Quite a few other manufacturers fit 2.0T petrol engines that push out close to 300 bhp. That is quite a difference

The fuel consumption looks spot on though as that is what we get on average in ours
The Porsche UK site now has a 'compare' button that has the same 245hp spec listed: https://www.porsche.com/uk/models/macan/

1. Base engine lost 2.5% power.
2. Consumption and emissions are up 7% (under new tests)
The 2.5% drop in power matches with a quoted 245hp, compared to 252hp in current 2.0 engine. So much for those who were optimistically hoping for a boost to nearer 300hp! :(

In normal driving though, anyone would be hard-pressed to detect a 2.5% reduction in power output. :geek:

Could the loss of power be due to the petrol emissions filter being fitted?

The steering wheel mode switch appears on the 360 degree photo on the German configurator if you add SC.

And the Autocar review says:

'Further changes include the availability of an optional GT sports steering wheel featuring a so-called Sport Response button.'

Here's the €541 'GT steering wheel'. No SC button shown but I presume it would be there if you had selected that in addition.

(EDIT: Yes the selector appears if you also chose SC as an option)

From Autocar's site:

"Also in the engine line-up is a new 3.0-litre V6 with 351bhp in the Macan S, and a 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbo. The latter unit is related to the motor in the Audi RS 4, and produces 434bhp here."

No mention of GTS...

If my late night browsing were accurate Porsche will have this on engines:
Base. Old macan 252bhp->[-2.5%] 245bhp New Macan, 185Kw->180 Kw, torque 370->370 no change.
S. Old macan 340bhp-> [+3.4%] 351bhp New Macan
Turbo. Old macan 400bhp->[+4.0%] 434bhp New Macan
