A warm welcome Skipper.
Great choice and possibly one the last SDs built.
Mac 2 or not to Mac 2. Advise please.
Belated thanks everyone. Yes, a great choice as it turns out. I was given a choice of 4 pre-registered SDs but by the time I had made my mind up two had already been snapped up. But this one is well specced with my choice of colour and wheels in place, so I am feeling very lucky. Hatfield Porsche gave me a good p/x on my old car and I didn't have to wait for a build slot either.
Performance is better than I imagined and it's sooooo nice to drive. Well pleased.

New engine mgmt system is more environmentally friendly, so you will lose some horse power... we can already see that on 2.0L derivative.Dandock wrote:Thanks everyone. The input has certainly cleared my mind and probably confirmed the conclusion I was coming to.
Still, it will be interesting to see what the new engines deliver. You never know... do you Simon!
Keep your (cash) powder dry and when you really neeeed to upgrade, pull the trigger.
If I could, I would prefer to buy a brand new Macan S (gen 1), but it is unobtanium!

I disagree that a new one will depreciate by £25k... unless you spend £100k on a fully loaded turbo! Depreciation, according to all sources I've researched, is around 25% after 3 years so only £15k on a £60k car...Ray G wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 6:17 pm If you trade-in and buy a new one then after 3 years that new one will depreciate by about £25k. If you keep the current one it would depreciate by about £15k.
I'd keep the current one if you are happy with it, skip the 1.2, put a very early deposit on a nominal 2.1 model then decide which one once the line-up is announced.
Much in line with SAC1 really.

Yep... That's why I tried to delete my comment. Sorry to leave your reply hanging. Roof in contrasting colour looks like an interesting option
